Vote Clock

Free election countdown clock for your website

The Vote Clock Media Clock: an embeddable election countdown widget and voter deadline clock. Updated October 15, 2026.

Put a live election countdown clock on any web page: the countdown to Election Day, November 3, 2026, the countdown to the 2028 presidential election, or a clock for your state's next voting deadline. It's free and nonpartisan, it updates itself, and it carries its own proof: the official source and the day the date was last checked against it. No ads, no tracking, no cookies and no personal data collected from your readers.

Choose your clock and copy the code

The preview and the code change with your choices. Paste the code into any page, post or sidebar that accepts HTML.

<div style="max-width:520px;margin:0 auto">
<iframe src="https://voteclock.org/embed.html?clock=election" title="Election Day countdown from Vote Clock" width="100%" height="230" style="border:0;display:block" loading="lazy"></iframe>
<p style="margin:3px 0 0;font:11px/1.4 sans-serif;color:#8a8a8a;text-align:center"><a href="https://voteclock.org/" style="color:inherit;text-decoration:none">Election countdown by Vote Clock</a></p>
</div>

This code places the clock in the center of your page, filling the column up to 520 pixels wide, matching the reader's light or dark setting.

The Election Day clock counts down to November 3, 2026, and after that day it moves on to the next election by itself. The 2028 clock counts down to the presidential election on November 7, 2028. The deadline clock counts down to the next voter registration, mail-ballot or early-voting deadline in one state, then moves on to the following deadline. The full clock needs at least 300 pixels of width; the compact clock, 180.

Ready-made clocks: copy one

Four clocks with their code ready, in the sizes websites ask for most. Each one is live.

Where the clock is already running

Newsrooms first, then government offices, libraries and schools, and civic groups; within each, the sites that send the most visitors come first.

If the clock is on your site, tell us and we'll list you here.

What your readers see

  • The time left, counting down to the second in the reader's own time zone.
  • The official source for the date, with a link to it, and the day the date was last checked against that source. A program re-checks each date every morning where the official page can be read automatically. The rest are re-read by a person.
  • The real cutoff: the official hour where a state sets one, and "last day" where it doesn't. Never an invented midnight.
  • No sound. The clock turns marigold as a deadline nears and red on its last day, and it never plays audio.
  • A link to Vote Clock for the full list of deadlines in their state, and a small "Get this clock" link so another site can pick it up.

Safe to put on your site

  • No ads, on the clock or on this page. Vote Clock takes no money from candidates, campaigns, parties or political action committees.
  • No tracking, no cookies, no personal data collected. The clock doesn't set cookies, store anything in the reader's browser or run analytics.
  • Official sources. Every date comes from federal law or a state or local election office, and the clock shows where it came from. How we source and verify dates.
  • It never goes dark. After Election Day 2026 the clock counts down to the 2028 presidential election on its own; a deadline clock moves on to the state's next deadline.
