Free election countdown widget and voter deadline clock for your website
The Vote Clock Media Clock. Last updated October 5, 2026.
Put a live clock for your state's next voting deadline on any web page, or a countdown to Election Day 2026. It's free and nonpartisan, it updates itself, and it carries its own proof: the official source and the day we last checked it. No tracking, no cookies and no personal data collected from your readers.
Copy the code
Paste this into any page or article that accepts HTML. The clock fills the width it's given, up to 520 pixels, and is 230 pixels tall.
<div style="max-width:520px;margin:0 auto 0 0"> <iframe src="https://voteclock.org/embed.html?clock=election" title="Election Day countdown from Vote Clock" width="100%" height="230" style="border:0;display:block" loading="lazy"></iframe> <p style="margin:4px 0 0;font:14px/1.4 sans-serif;text-align:left"><a href="https://voteclock.org/">Election countdown from Vote Clock</a></p> </div>
This sample is the national clock, placed on the left. To center it, change margin:0 auto 0 0 to margin:0 auto, and text-align:left to text-align:center. For the right, use margin:0 0 0 auto and text-align:right. The builder on the homepage or any state page writes this for you: pick a state for that state's clock, or None for the national one, and pick Left, Center or Right.
A clock for your state's next deadline
The deadline clock counts down to the next voter registration, mail-ballot or early-voting deadline in one state, then moves on to the following deadline by itself. This example is for Illinois:
<div style="max-width:520px;margin:0 auto 0 0"> <iframe src="https://voteclock.org/embed.html?clock=deadline&state=IL" title="Next voting deadline from Vote Clock" width="100%" height="230" style="border:0;display:block" loading="lazy"></iframe> <p style="margin:4px 0 0;font:14px/1.4 sans-serif;text-align:left"><a href="https://voteclock.org/illinois">Illinois voting deadlines from Vote Clock</a></p> </div>

What your readers see
- The time left, counting down to the second in the reader's own time zone.
- The official source for the date, with a link to it, and the day we last checked the date against that source.
- The real cutoff: the official hour where a state sets one, and "last day" where it doesn't. Never an invented midnight.
- No sound. The clock turns marigold as a deadline nears and red on its last day, and it never plays audio.
- A link to Vote Clock for the full list of deadlines in their state.
Safe to put on your site
- No ads. Vote Clock takes no money from candidates, campaigns, parties or political action committees.
- No tracking, no cookies, no personal data collected. The clock doesn't set cookies, store anything in the reader's browser or run analytics.
- Official sources. Every date comes from federal law or a state or local election office, and the clock shows where it came from. How we source and verify dates.
